Possible Acorn Woodpecker

I saw this woodpecker on a walk down the street from where I live. He was really pecking away at a palm tree. I think he is an Acorn Woodpecker...Correct me if I am wrong.

I will be going to a western Bird Festival at Morro Bay, California the middle of this month. Hope to get some decent bird shots. Sorry, I have to miss the one in Titusville this year. I loved it last year...

great capture. Looks like an Acron woodpecker all right. I never saw one. Morro Bay is an old stopping ground when i was in the navy out west. We went over there several times.
