Florida Scrub Jays

I was Able to find some Florida scrub Jays in the Helen and Allan Cruickshank Sanctuary in Rockledge Florida. The Scrub Jays are Curious birds and will take things out of your hands. I held out my hand and one came over and landed. One also landed on my head. these are gorgeous birds.

I love the Scrubjays..When on Merritt Island in January, they landed on my head, too. They are totally fun...

This is my candidate for the Florida state bird. I photograph the Scrub Jays in the Ocala National Forest frequently and I've never had one approach within 10 feet of me. None of them are banded. Maybe after getting captured, handled and released they lose some of that natural wariness.
