Good show. I really like how close up your shots are. What length lens are you using? You got me wanting to go back there myself to try some.

Thanks, Linda. I was using a 200-400mm lens. It was not the best choice. I would have been much better off if I'd brought the 70-200mm lens with a teleconverter. Most of these shots were taken at between 200 and 300mm. The shorter lens is also a lot lighter and easier to hand hold than the big one. I didn't anticipate being as close to the critters as I was and opted for the larger lens. I tried to get some shots of the African penguins but couldn't fit them in the frame. The same thing happened with the orangutans (though I must say I wasn't overly disappointed that I didn't get any shots of them.)
I'd definitely like to go back and spend a little more time there. Maybe we should have a field trip to the zoo??

A trip to the Lowry Zoo sounds good to me. I went last April when I bought my camera and it's always a fun trip for photography.
