For Scrub Jays, you won't find them in the Viera Wetlands, but about 4-5 miles away is the Helen and Allan Cruickshank Sanctuary and that is the place for the Scrub Jays. See PDF Brochure: www.eelbrevard.com/pubs/cruickshankbro.pdf

The Cruickshank Sanctuary is an amazing place. There are scrub jays everywhere and they're quite tame. I also found several scrub jays at the Cedar Key Scrub Preserve, which is a lot closer (about 6 miles east of Cedar Key on SR 24.) There weren't as many of them around, but again they were quite approachable. You shouldn't feed them of course, but in case you just happen to have some with you, they love peanuts.
An interesting fact I learned about scrub jays: Last year's babies help to raise the new little ones.
