How a Sandhill attracts his mate..........

This morning I came upon a pair of Sandhill Cranes. The male was doing everything he could to get the attention of his mate, by flaping his wings, jumping up in the air, and even spraying sand in her face..........

It was one of the few times I wished I had a movie camera.

I have seen this before and i believe it part of the mating ritual. They get dancing sometimes for quite awhile.
